Jason’s Baby Photo Album

A year has already passed and Jason is now one year old. Jason’s parents, Lori and Dontay, made this a very special day for Jason by hosting a big birthday party and inviting about 70 guests. They planned for the party weeks ahead of time and prepared the food for the affair with some help from Uncle Paul. Jason of course had no idea it was his birthday or that the party was for him, as he usually gets a lot of attention where ever he goes.

Jason is special and loved by everyone who meets him as he always wears that unforgettable beautiful smile. Little did Jason know what he was in for as this day would be better than Christmas with all of the gifts he was about to receive. You can see that Jason was amazed that he could make all of this mess and everyone cheered him on, differently than any other day when this would be wrong to throw food. After the cake eating event Jason was taken for a bath so he could freshen up and continue with the party. When it was time to open his presents he still had no idea what this was all about and like most babies he was totally happy with opening a musical card or playing with the empty boxes with no concern as to what was inside.

With all said and done it was a very long day for Jason and he wanted to experience every minute of it insisting to stay up past midnight. Jason put many smiles on faces today and likewise they made him smile. When Jason gets older, he may not remember what happened on this day but he will never forget the love & happiness he received from all.

How to take Great Pictures and Digital Photos of Babies or Children During the Holiday’s

Taking pictures and digital photos is very popular today and practically every family owns an inexpensive point and shoot digital camera. These new style cameras are basically all automatic and you simply center the subject in the frame press the button and you have a good quality photo, it’s that easy. If you are not familiar with this type of camera, practice taking photos of different subjects and at different angles and settings to get used to the cameras functions. After you have tried this several times review the results of your pictures and adjust to make your shots unique. Holiday parties & celebrations are fun colorful events, perfect for picture taking opportunities where you will find many smiling faces on children and adults alike. I have put together a list of photo ideas from my experience in  photography. Try some of these techniques the next time you use your camera and capture your children’s faces as these moments happen.

Tips for Great Photos

• Take some candid photos as your child getting dressed for the occasion.
• For baby photos, lay them down on a blanket and spread some toys around them.
• When taking children’s pictures, kneel down and take them at their eye level or lower for a different effect.
• Before taking any shot check that the camera is level or horizontal with the surroundings. Line up edges with other lines in the view finder.
• Take some pictures at different angles on the side or up or down.
• Try to keep about 1/3 of the picture with a neutral background. Like the sky or solid color wall.
• Take children’s group shots from above and at eye level.
• Include friends in your photos to capture the memory of your baby being with others.
• Take a photo with your baby near decorations with their face glowing.

However way you choose the backgrounds and settings for taking holiday pictures with your children, the most important thing is taking the photo. These are once in a lifetime memories that you and family members will enjoy and treasure for life. It is also a good idea to make a photo CD of the pictures in addition to photo prints. Make copies of the picture CD to send and share with others or include in a digital photo album. Pictures on CD are long lasting and are easy to transfer to other types of media as technology changes. Digital photography makes it easy to email digital pictures to friends and relatives far away or upload the photos to an online family photo album.

      For new grandparents all I can say is this is a totally different experience than you ever imagined and this child is a true gift from God. You see as grandparents we do things a little differently than we did when raising our own children. Don’t misunderstand me, we loved our own children and always tried to do the right thing as they were growing up, but as a parent you have many daily activities to juggle as you are running all the time, working and doing what it takes to survive. As grandparents you have a better understanding of children and you are able to foresee some of the challenges a child may have. My wife and I treasure the time we spend with Jason and love  seeing  that beautiful smiling face of his that makes our day. Jerry
